Demon began to lead them into the facility. Once inside they were introduced to a tall man called Commander. Demon began speaking, “This is Commander. He is the owner and operator of this facility. He will oversee your training. He already knows that you are an Immortal, and he already knows that Lisa is taking on a role as your support operative. You will both be trained accordingly. I must depart. I have a lot of research to do, I will find out all I can about your families situation and will report back to you once your training period is complete. Once you finish your training and are outside the facility, use the amulet to call me and I will come.” After dropping them off, he vanished into a blue ball of fire.

The Commander looked at both Logan and Lisa for a minute, as if he was thinking about something. After a few minutes he began to speak, “Logan, and Lisa. You were both sent here by Demon. Let me give you a little background. First off Demon is an alien. That little bastard is from another planet. Unfortunately I owe the alien my life, many times over. So I will return the favor to the little bastard. Now listen here, you both are in my facility and you both will follow my rules. I have quite a few rules and if you don’t follow em’, you die.”

The Commander continued, “Rule one, do not attack my men under any circumstances. Rule two, if you have something to say, then say it. No beating around the bush is allowed in my building. Rule three, train hard and train fast. Rule four, don’t back talk me on any subject. Your opinions can be expressed, and are enjoyed, but arguing with me is against the rules. Now that the rules are out of the way, on to the next order of business. Let me tell you a little bit about me, this facility, and what you will be doing here.”

The Commander stepped closer to Logan and continued speaking, “Your here for training. Logan, you are going to be trained to kick ass, Lisa your going to be trained to support ass. Your both going to have a hard time here, and your going to train like your life depended on it.”

The Commander continued speaking, “My name is Commander. You call me Commander, and you remember me as Commander. My real name does not matter and will never be revealed. My facility belongs to a top secret military organization that you will refer to as facility. You will remember it as facility. The real name of it does not matter and will never be revealed. If you ever release the location of this facility to anyone in the world, you will die. Now I will tell you some about this facility.”

After he thought for a bit, the Commander started going into detail about the facility, “The facility was built a prime strategic location in the event that a war breaks out. It also uses Time Displacement Technology during training courses. This is achieved via sensors built into the walls at every 400 feet which work synchronously to disrupt the space time continuum within this facility only. This allows a great deal of time to pass within the facility without affecting time within the real world. You will also not age during this time since real world time is passing by very slowly. The Time Displacement Technology has quite a few settings, but in this situation we are only going to need one. A twenty year period of time will go by inside the facility, which will cause three months to go by outside the facility. You will gain a total of twenty years worth of training in a three month period.”

The Commander continued to speak, “I know all about both of you and what training your going to undertake. The training courses are going to be: General Training, Strategy and Tactics, Vehicle Usage, Technology/Information Technology, Espionage/Spy, Support Skills, mystical skills, Combat Skills, cybernetics, and post training.

Logan nodded as the Commander continued, “The general training is what I will go over with you first. This is going to be comprised of all of the standard knowledge you would learn in a college level setting. The ideas behind this is to give you the knowledge and common sense needed to help you in any given situation. You will be taught a variety of subjects up to grand master level. This means you will have roughly the equivalent of a doctorate. The following subjects will be taught to both of you thoroughly: Math, Science, Social Studies, History, Geology, Multiple Languages Familiarity, Chemistry, Alchemy, Psychology and a variety of other subjects that I have not listed. In essence you will walk away with a standard education that is well above college level. Not to mention the course will include many more subjects that most people do not learn during college. The reason we can teach you must more than a standard college, is because we use technology in order to speed up the learning process. All of the additional training subjects will be covered as they are started.”

The Commander paused a bit to see what else he needed to talk about. After a minute or so of pouring over paperwork he continued, “That’s about it. That’s everything. The only information I have not spoken about is training time length. Each period of training will last approximately two years. That’s it for now. Take a few days to relax, and get ready to start your general training first thing Monday morning.”

The next few days Logan and Lisa focused on spending a lot time together. They had gained a great deal of information about their situation in the past few days and they really needed some time to themselves. Logan felt a lot better now that he knew a lot more about the situation. He also made a few personal decision at this time. Growing up he had always looked up to mercenaries...he felt that with all of the power and training he was being given that he was going to become a mercenary after he saved his family. He had the ability to make a change, and that would give him access to the resources needed to really make a positive change.

Monday came very quickly, and it was time to officially start their first training topic. The first topic they were being trained in was called General Training. This was supposedly a series of glorified college courses. Apparently Commander mentioned that when the general training was complete, they would have an education that was way above the standard college curriculum. He also mentioned that the education they would receive here, would cover a large variety of topics that were not covered in standard colleges.

Almost all of the general training encompassed strictly book work. They were taught all of the standard things that someone learns in all of grade school, junior high, and high school. That was just the basic knowledge that was covered first. Afterwards they were taught the basics of a standard college education, touching each of the major skills that are normally taught in college. The standard curriculum of math, science, social studies, history, and all of the other standard school courses where taught to them thoroughly. When they were finished learning all they could learn about these college courses, they were then taught things that would never be taught in a standard college.

There specialty training touched all courses ranging from heavy science, psychology, sociology, nuclear science, and a wide spectrum of other high end skills. During this time they were also taught a lot about other countries. They were given virtual tours of each of the countries and given background references on each country. They were taught their histories, backgrounds and internal information. Commander also revealed a great deal of information that was considered heavily classified. Another major focus on certain parts of the course were focused on teaching them other languages. They were able to master bits of pieces of quite a few languages, and were able to learn the key components in learning, identifying, and speaking practically any spoken language on earth. It also touched on other planets, other dimensions, and some of the currently known dimensions.

The general training went on for a total of two years. There minds were filled with knowledge to the point of exploding. Logan was able to take the knowledge in very easily. He was an immortal and was able to understand everything that was being taught very easily. He sucked up the knowledge as a sponge. Lisa undertook the same training course, but she was not able to assimilate knowledge as fast as Logan. She learned a great deal, but only what she was able to mentally learn. This is where the technology came in. They used computers to electronically burn some of the memory into her mind to help her remember what was being taught.

During those two years they also learned something very important. This specific skilled happened to be much more important than anything else they were taught during that two year period. They learned the fundamental core structure behind all forms of knowledge. The Commander called it Knowledge Assimilation. This would allow them to easier learn new things. They would be able to learn any new type of knowledge, or skill within a relatively short period of time. This skill would also make it next to impossible for them to forget something they had already learned, or for their other abilities to degrade over time with no use. The Knowledge Assimilation ability would completely protect against that happening. This would allow even the skills they did not use a lot, to still stay well known to them. This was also another reason why the general training course was performed before anything else, this allowed them to learn these skills so all of the things they studied afterwards would be much easier to learn and they would become much better with them.

The next training topic they were starting was Strategy and Tactics. This was going to cover a wide variety of things within the next two years. The first half of this training topic was going to be comprised of book knowledge, and staring at a monitor. The second half was going to be focused on actual field application in a simulated environment. Throughout the first year of this training, they spent a lot of time reading about strategies and tactics.

This was a subject that Lisa was going to try and learn as much as possible about. She knew that this was a major skill and would help a lot as a Support Operator. That would allow her to guide Logan better, and get better results when he was in the field.

The first part of their training taught them what strategy and tactics were. It taught them the different types that have been used throughout history and the affects they had. It covered both large scale wars, small skirmishes, and personal usage. Strategy and Tactics was a very deep subject. It varies greatly based off of what period of development civilization is at, as well as thousands of other factors. The point of this training course was to teach them the basic backbone of strategy and tactics without focusing as much at first on the thousands of factors that define outcomes of given situations.

The basic idea behind strategy and tactics is to use every aspects of being to your advantage, and attempt to utilize your mind in order to achieve the results you require. To start with they were taught about the past. They went into detail about all the past civilizations of each time period and how each one utilized various strategies and tactics throughout their existence. They also covered how that affected their societies and the societies around them. Once that part was covered completely the training shifted courses and began covering strategy and tactics in relation to modern day usage. It went into detail about how the US military uses it, and then it went into advanced detail about each and every current country and how they used it in order to achieve different results. Once Logan and Lisa had a great deal of knowledge pertaining to large scale strategy and tactics they were taught about it's application in a much smaller scale all the way down to personal usage.

After the book work part of their strategy and tactics training ended they started getting real drills inside a simulator. Logan would take the role of of anything from a member of an army, a leader of an army, or in a personal situation and would be required to utilize what they learned to get themselves out of those situations correctly. Lisa was put behind a laptop in a safe location and was required to guide Logan throughout the course as effectively as possible. The idea of this was to cultivate the mindset that Lisa and Logan had related to strategy and tactics and learn how to forge new ones as the need arose. This eventually lead to the ability for them to be able to create new strategies and tactics even if they were ones that had never been utilized before. The Commander also made sure they were taught all of it's core building blocks so anytime any new related concepts were introduced to them pertaining to strategy and tactics they would be able to learn the new knowledge very easily.

The next course of study that they undertook was Vehicle Usage and Automotive Repair. The first year focused on being able to ride, operate and use vehicles of any type. The second year focused on teaching them to repair any vehicle of any type.

The first year was going to be split up into three types of vehicles and different types of usage. The three vehicle types were going to be Land, Sea, and Air. The different usage types were going to be driving, standard operation, and operational features and weaponry. This was going to be the main focus of the first year. Logan's goal was to totally master all that this course had to offer. Lisa's focus was to learn how to drive each type of vehicle loosely, as well as some of their operational features. She was very adept with technology so this part was going to come easy.

The first type of vehicle they focused on were land vehicles. They were taught Cars, Motorcycles Jeeps, SUV's, Mini-Vans, and various other off-road vehicles as well. After they were done training with those, they started introducing eighteen wheelers, tanks, and a variety of military grade vehicles from a variety of countries. Due to the vehicle knowledge they had already acquired they were able to quickly put that together and learn to drive the new vehicles. They were also taught how to deal with different features in different vehicles and how to operate different types of mechanics inside a vehicle.

When they began getting involved in more military grade vehicles they also had to learn how to operate the various features and weapon systems of those vehicles. After awhile they realized that a lot of them were roughly the same, and most of them could be operated easily..at least on a basic level.

When they got to that point, the Commander realized it was time to take things up a notch. The next course they were taught gave them a crash course in sea maneuverability. They were taught everything there was to know about ships and all their different types, and then they were taught how to drive them. They were taught all about coordinates, longitude, and latitude at this point because it was practically required to drive any type of boat. During this time they quickly learned any type of sea vehicle from a very small boat, to a huge warship. They were even taught to drive Submarines at that point. That took on a whole new level of operation and they were required to learn how to operate everything inside the ships and submarines as well, including their weapons system. This was probably the part that hung them up the most and took the longest for them to learn.

Finally when they had the land and sea down completely it was time for the air and outer space. They were taught in a standard bi-plane at first. They quickly got the hang of that and afterwards quickly learned helicopters, jets, fighter pilots, and standard planes. They were taught how to utilize various weapon systems inside of them and all of their other features. After they got those down they learned to drive a standard space ship, and then how to fly giant probes, and shuttles that navigated outer space.

During this entire time Logan mastered all of these vehicles like the back of his hand. Lisa on the other hand, she learned what she could. Certain vehicles she gained more skill with than others, and some she just got basic crash courses in. She knew enough to drive something, fly something, or sail something if the need arose.

There training in vehicle driving at this point was pretty much wrapped up, there wasn't really anything they could not drive and operate. The next aspect of the training consisted of vehicle repair and maintenance. They went back through every vehicle they learned to operate and subsequently learned how to work on internally and externally.

Logan mastered this very quickly. Lisa always loved technology to a great extent so she did very well in this field as well. Vehicle repair technology was never her passion, but it was technology related nonetheless so she learned a great deal about this as well. She also knew that it might help some when it comes to supporting Logan in the field.

Once those two years were up, they were ready to start the next topic. They had been through a lot in these past 6 years of training, and they were not even half way done with their training period. Already Logan had learned so much, that he already felt that he would be next to unstoppable once he was done, and the people who took his family would pay dearly for their crimes against him.

The next topic of training consisted of Technology and Information Technology. This was another area that Logan had been very much looking forward to, since he was a technological junkie. Lisa was also very adept at this kind of thing. This was going to be one of the main areas she focused on, since this would help a lot in her support of Logan.

These Technology courses not only covered Technology and Information Technology, but it also covered other areas heavily related to it. It also encompassed Science, Engineering, and several other high profile fields. The goal of this training topic was to perform two tasks. The first was to teach Lisa and Logan as much about these subjects as possible. The second was to give them all the knowledge they needed into the basic backbone of this subject to allow them to easily build upon that infinitely in the future.

There standard technology course started off going into great detail about what technology really was. From there it branched off into major detail about all technological advances of the past, since the dawn of man. After that was covered thoroughly the course started focusing on every civilization, country, and the United States. It went into great detail about all of those regarding the technological advances of each from beginning to end.

When those lessons were over Lisa and Logan both had a great understanding of Technology throughout history. Now they began to learn the practical application of technology in everyday life and how modern day technology affects everything. There knowledge was then built upon and they were taught how to actual work with technology. They were started off being taught how to utilize almost any type of technology. This also taught them how to analyze new technology and understand how it works by just analyzing it and using their technology knowledge to be able to figure out the specifics.

Afterwards, they were taught how to create knew technology. This applied to practically any field imaginable. They were taught so much about technology they got to the point were they knew enough to develop new technology. They also were able to repair current technology, and do quite a bit more with it. Beyond that they learned everything they needed to know about Information Technology which is a combination of information and technology utilized together.

The training taught them everything they needed to know about technology. They could look at new technologies and after a few minutes were able to understand how they work, and utilize them accordingly. The science they were taught behind it allowed them to easily research new technologies as well. Since Lisa's mind was not as advanced as Logan, the Commander utilized technology to burn a lot of this knowledge into her memory. He decided this was a field that would greatly affect her support capabilities.

The next topic of training was Espionage and Spy related skills. This was one of the skills she would have very need of. She wanted to learn the mechanics behind these skills, to help support Logan when he was in these situations. Most of these skills in this training topic were not centered around fighting. They were centered around doing things stealthily. There were however, certain skills involved that she intended to gain a lot of knowledge in. Mostly due to the fact that a lot of these would help her greatly in a support role.

The Espionage and Spy skills were going to teach them a variety of skills including but not limited to: Reconnaissance, Assassination Training, Special Operations, Covert Operations, Black Operations, Hacking, Breaking an Entering, Lock-picking, Stealth, Improvising, Intelligence, Counter-Intelligence, Surveillance, and a heavy variety of other related skills. This training topic was not to be confused with the support topic which was coming later however a lot of these skills were still closely related. Lisa also mastered all of these abilities as well. The only difference, on the operations and assassin related skills she learned how to support someone in those specific situations. She was not really the fighting type, so she wasn't going to be in those types of situations but she learned all about them because she knew that she would be required to support Logan when those situations arose.

Logan quickly learned everything that was introduced to him due to his advanced mind. They were taught a great deal during this period of time. A lot of the courses were setup so they had to utilize these abilities in those situations. They also covered operations detail. For example Special, Covert, and Black Operations. They were taught the basic structure behind those types of operations and how to pull them off. They were given fake firearms and taken through the training courses thousands of times to really learn how to respond to situations in the field as the need arose, and how to lead troops (for times when and if they were ever leading troops).

Those were not the only aspects of the training. Lisa and Logan both learned the support end as well, but it was mostly focused towards Lisa. She learned how to support a team inside a situation like this. She was trained in how to gather intelligence about a situation, and then perform support operations for teams of various sizes..both with and without Logan leading them. She also learned how to deal with team leaders who did not listen, and to not take responsibility when her support advice was not heeded. She was trained very carefully in the three types of operations, as well as reconnaissance. She did not learn as much of how to actively participate in those roles, but how to support those that were in those roles.

Some of the skills learned during this training period consisted of Assassinations as well. This was primarily Logan's focus. Her part in this, was to learn how to support him under these situations. The Assassination skills would be very handy for Logan when he was in the field. It would allow him to infiltrate an organization and kill someone if he was under a mercenary contract. He knew that a lot of contracts would deal with assassination and this training would give him the edge he needed to complete those contracts.

There next training topic was Support Skills. This was training course was originally geared for Lisa. Since that was her primary role as she went with Logan, was to support him during everything he did. The idea behind this topic was to teach them Reconnaissance, Logistics, Communications, and Support. The entire idea was to give Lisa a way to support Logan when he was in the field.

During the training they were also going to learn here would also deal heavily with communication. It was also going to teach them how to setup communications in a wide variety of ways, scramble signals from enemies, and also intercept communications (Which was a major part in being a support operative). The training went by quickly, but they learned a world of knowledge. They performed a lot of practical applications with Lisa supporting Logan in a variety of situations.

The support operations finished up fairly well. They both learned a lot during this time. The next training course they were started consisted of the mystical and supernatural arts. This would deal in both magick and psionics of various types.

During this training they were focusing on the understanding, usage, and application of both psionics and magick. During this time they were both going to be learning almost everything related to the mystic arts, which were both largely misunderstood.

Psionics has been around since the dawn of man. Some people were born psionics while others required technology to unlock those parts of their mind. Psionics are not broken up into different categories. A person can either do something or they cannot. Once a person is open to psionic abilities they are able to freely learn the psionic abilities that they are interested in learning. Psionics only learn what they actively teach themselves to do. There isn't a specific discipline that teaches them an entire set of skills. They must learn whatever they wish to learn individually. The mind itself however was limited on what a standard human could do with psionics even if they were undergoing advanced training. This simply means there is a distribution to skill. If a psionic learns a great deal of different psionic abilities, he may not ever be able to use any of those at expert level. Similarly if a psionic only learns a few core skills he could master them to a very great extent. There are limited exceptions. Psionics masters are able to utilize more psionics than the standard human due to their advanced abilities.

There is also a negative side to learning and utilizing psionics, which is another limiting factor on how much someone can learn, as well as how much someone could do at one time. When a person utilizes psionics it's a form of thinking. However this type of thinking far transcends the thought processes of a normal human, so it was eventually labeled Mental Overdrive. People who perform psionics a lot of times will start to bleed from the nose, eyes, and sometimes even the mouth when psionics are being utilized for longer than a few minutes at a time, especially when they are utilizing a great deal at once. Continued usage beyond this point can generally make them very weak, followed by a headache, followed by passing out. There are times that even after they are passed out their minds are still in an overdrive state, which can sometimes lead to permanent brain damage, blindness, loss of hearing or death. There are some situations where exceptions take place. Psionic masters are not as prone to these limitations from long-term use. They still have the same affects, but generally they take much longer to manifest. This makes the psionic masters able to utilize stronger psionics for a longer period of time then a standard psionic.

Psionics can also play a role in later stages of life. If someone has utilized psionics throughout a majority of there life, that will give them great benefits when they begin getting older. There mind will be a lot stronger, causing them to have less memory problems in there old age. There is also less of a chance of them getting brain cancer, brain tumors, or other brain related illnesses or diseases.

Psionics and technology are related, in a way. Psionics can be used with technology and vice versa. There are a lot of technological devices, cybernetics, and machines that can be enhanced, controlled, or require psionics to operate. There are also times when certain forms of psionics are almost impossible to achieve without a high level of technology. Another way that technology and psionics co-exist are through cybernetics. There are many cybernetics that enhance, augment, or help psionic abilities to manifest themselves in a user.

Logan was free of some of the human limitations that come with psionic usage, but he still had restrictions that even he was bound by. Even though Logan was an Immortal his mind could still reach the breaking point with repeated psionic usage in a short period of time. He would however, not start feeling the affects until much longer than a standard human.

Logan was able to master the field of psionics. He mastered them to the point of being able to pioneer new psionic abilities that have never been used before. Lisa had no natural psionic abilities, so she had to unlock that part of her mind with technology. Her psionic training focused primarily on things that would benefit her in the role of support operative. She mostly focused on communication and information gathering related skills. She also trained avidly on simpler tasks that would still aid with the support role

Magick was another ability that allowed people to accomplish things that were normally not possible. For the most part magick was a general ability that was not restricted to specific categories. Magick itself was not categorized, although certain aspects of magick were considered forbidden. Magick itself serves as the building blocks for all life. Magick runs through animals, plants, people, items, objects, and practically the entire universe. It also ran through all planets, suns, stars, and galaxies within the universe. Magick was the core reason why other dimensions existed in the first place. Each dimension was either built, created or discovered by utilizing magick in various ways.

Forbidden magick deals with magick that is considered a crime against humanity. Some examples of forbidden magick are spells dealing with sacrifices, spells dealing with creating slaves or zombies from humans, spells related to raising the dead to fight for you, and other related magick. Generally those types of spells took a great deal of human blood, sacrifice, and horrible acts to even cast.

There are times when a lot of different magick users utilize a large quantity of magick in a small area. Generally this happens during wars or large battles. When this happens wild magick has a chance of developing in that specific area. This affect is caused by residue being left over from the large amounts of magick. Sometimes the residue can dissipate from the area, and other times it mixes with various chemicals in the air and develops wild magick. Once wild magick settles in an area it can generally remain there anywhere from a few weeks, to thousands of years. When magick users cast magick in wild magick zones it causes strange results. Generally there magick will not function properly and will cause undesired, unexpected, and often dangerous results.

Magick does not have the same limitations imposed by psionics, but it has it's own limiting factors. When magick is used it channels those magickal energies through the body. This can wreak havoc on an untrained body. Generally while casting magick, the user becomes very tired very quickly. They can become very weak, and after awhile they become so fatigued they actually pass out. However, after passing out the magick is no longer channeled so no additional damage can be done to the body.

Magick also affects people in old age. If someone has used magick a great deal of there life, then there body will be a lot more resistant to magick. The more resistant to magick there bodies become, the more magick they can use at one time and with more power. This is generally why most of the older mages are some of the most powerful.

Magick and technology have the ability to coexist. There are times when magick is used to strengthen technology, and vice versa. There are certain types of technology that require magick in order to work. Technology can be used in a variety of ways to make magick stronger as well. There was an entire field devoted to utilizing magick and technology together in various ways. There were even people who spent their life specializing in this form of field. There were also scientists who pioneered new advances in this field as well.

Logan was able to learn a great deal about magick. He mastered all of the standard concepts and got to the point where he was able to develop new skills in magick that had never been created before. Lisa focused primarily on learning magick that would aid her in a support role. Magick is capable of doing a great variety of different things. This left her open to a lot of spells that would help her support Logan when he was in the field.

In total they were nearing the end of their training period. They had a total of 6 years worth of training remaining. There next topic of training was combat training. This was the training course that was going to set Logan apart. This is where he would learn the things he needed to avenge his family. Lisa was going to largely avoid this subject. She simply wanted to learn enough for self defense and then skip the remainder of the training.

The combat courses dealt with a variety of different subjects. Their first focus related to standard hand to hand combat techniques. They were taught everything ranging from street fighting, martial arts, pressure points, and a variety of other related techniques. After there hand to hand combat training was finished, they began dealing with old fashioned weapons. They utilized swords, shields, daggers, bow and arrows, crossbows, and any other weapon classified as a close combat weapon.

After those courses were done, their focus was shifted to pistols, rifles, shotguns and a variety of other long range weaponry. The training course described the different types of guns, taught how to clean them, explained about all of the different shells, and how to hold them properly.

There final combat course consisted of special weaponry. Anything that was not taught in the previous combat lessons were covered here. A few examples of what they were taught are tactical nukes, warheads, RPG's, missiles, rockets, automatic and semi-automatic weaponry, napalm, grenades of all types, and a variety of other weaponry.

At this point the core aspect of their training was complete. They had finished a total of sixteen years worth of training. The final two courses were not considered training, but were setup to get them ready to leave the facility. The next two courses were closely related. The first one was cybernetics and the second was post training. The cybernetics course was simply the selection process in order to decide what cybernetics they wanted to get installed during the post training course. The post training was setup to give them everything they needed to finish off the last portions of their training and leave the facility permanently.

The next step in there training, was to pick out what cybernetics they wanted. Commander took them to the ICD (International Cybernetics Database). The database listed out every type of cybernetic that was available. It listed cybernetics that were available on the open market, black market, and gray market. Any cybernetic that had ever been researched or installed on someone was listed in the cybernetic database. There were a lot of cybernetics out there that were custom built and would only work on those they were built for. A lot of those custom cybernetics were not included in the ICD. Commander wanted Logan and Lisa to pour through the database and take note of all that they wanted. During the post training he would explain the ones they picked, and get them all installed into them.

Logan decided on two different Cybernetic systems. Both of them were very popular, and very powerful. The first one he chose was the EES (Evil Eye System). It was a massively popular, although illegal, eye augmentation. It was incredibly expensive. The second augmentation system he selected was the UIA (Universal Immortal Augmentation) which was a massive augmentation system that altered various parts and functions of the body. This was intended for Immortals, so humans were not capable of using this augmentation system. It was built to give an Immortal practically any augmentation they would need throughout their lifetime.

Lisa dug through the system a great deal. There was only two cybernetic augmentation she currently wanted. Any others she wanted to totally avoid, at least for the time being. The first one she chose was a datajack. It wasn't an ordinary datajack, it was one that had been specifically enhanced for support operatives. The official name was a support datajack. The second cybernetic she chose was an arm integrated laptop.

After their cybernetics where selected, it was time for Logan to receive a few items from the Commander that was going to aid him in the field. Before the Commander joined this training facility, he wanted to be a famous mercenary. He even went so far as to pour thousands, if not millions of dollars into the idea. Within a few years he had purchased a dimension that was entirely custom built. He labeled the dimension the Dimensional Rift. It was a pocket dimension that was built using time displacement technology. Anyone inside the dimensional rift would not age.

Inside the rift he had a grand castle constructed. Below the castle was a small sized town. The town was constructed with heavy magick to allow for those who claimed ownership of specific houses to mentally change the construction of this house. This also allowed new inhabitants to the town the ability to mentally create new land and houses for them to live on. The town would auto-expand based off of the number of inhabitants. The inhabitants could also auto-generate food and water so they did not have to buy it.

The castle itself was a very large castle. Inside of the castle was a master computer known as the mainframe. It was setup to be the headquarters for his mercenary organization who was going to use this castle for there headquarters. The mainframe could store infinite amounts of data and was very feature rich, however it had nothing in it currently.

After he developed the rift and everything in it, he established what is known as an inter-dimensional business. An inter-dimension business is a business that is licensed to operate outside of the general dimensional flow. It means the business was not bound by laws or regulations of any specific dimension. If a representative of the business was passing through their dimension they had diplomatic immunity within certain limits. When he created the business he named it apex.

The Apex organization he created was intended to run businesses of various kinds. The master business was Apex. It's underlying organization was going to be a massive inter-dimensional mercenary organization. He even went so far as to obtain a license for running an inter-dimensional mercenary organization as well. This was as far as he went. He never even hired any mercenaries or took on any actual contracts. He was recruited by this facility before he had a chance, and he took the job.

Commander also marketed the Apex organization a great deal as a powerful mercenary organization that were going to get there hands involved in all kinds of contracts and do all types of things in a variety of dimensions to make the universe a better place to live in.

During the time he was trying to build the business he also had a few special items and special vehicles constructed for this same purpose. Commander offered Logan the entire business and everything that was owned by that business. Right now it was just a dimensional rift, empty castle and town, empty mainframe, a few items, and some vehicles with a few license that would allow him to run the business and underlying mercenary organization.

Logan graciously accepted. Commander gave him the deed to the dimensional rift, and the deed for the business itself. He also gave Logan his license to run an inter-dimensional business, and an inter-dimensional mercenary organization. These items gave Logan full control over all of the assets controlled by the company.

There were a total of two items that were given to Logan. The first item was a cellphone. It was a state of the art cellphone that was designed for combat situations. It was bullet proof, fire proof, and water proof. It was linked directly to Logan's mainframe and it could send and receive contact information from the mainframe. During communication it ran through the mainframe itself. Data was encrypted and decrypted on the way in and out to give Logan's conversations extra security.

The second item was a Wallet Stick. A wallet stick was very similar to a standard wallet except aspects of the wallet stick were handled via electronics. Any License that Logan obtained were stored digitally in his mainframe. The wallet stick could communication with the mainframe and get the data on whatever license he needed at the time. If he needed to show a license to the authorities he could easily pull the data up on the wallet stick. All of his finances were handled digitally through his mainframe as well. The mainframe was hooked into all of the banking information that went with the organization. He could send and receive money digitally with his wallet. This also allowed him to auto-convert money into whatever currency he needed at the time.

When the Commander created the organization he also developed a few custom vehicles. The first, and best of which was the Black Falcon. This was a very powerful, one of a kind, custom jet developed by Commander. The Black Falcon can reach top speeds of around Mach 35. At max speeds the Black Falcon can go so fast that the earth underneath it will split apart as it flies. This requires the pilot to be very careful how fast he goes. Black Falcon has multiple features as well that set it apart from any other jet currently on the market.

One of the core features of the Black Falcon is it's ability to hover. The jet can hover in one place, as well as in any standard direction. It has the ability to travel in space as well. When it is traveling in space it activates a life support system. Air is generated by nanotechnology. This makes running out of air while in space nearly impossible. The jet also has a hyper-drive setting which allows the jet to reach excess of three times it's max speed while in space. The jet can also act as a submarine under limited conditions. The jet can seal itself so water cannot enter, and activate the life support systems just like it was traveling in space. While underwater it can only travel a total of 60 miles per hour, but it still retains it's hover ability.

The jet has a dimensional portal generator built into the front of the jet. This allows the jet to develop a dimensional portal in front of it. This gives the jet the ability to travel from dimension to dimension. The portal generator has a three hour cool-down. There is a built in tractor beam at the bottom of the jet. This tractor beam allows it to pull smaller vehicles, items, equipment, or gear into the jet from the ground. The jets fuel was auto-generated using nanotechnology. The jet was linked directly to Logan's mainframe so he could control all aspects of the jet mentally.

Black Falcon has a wide array of systems in place to give it the ability to travel in any type of weather condition. There is a shield generation system built into the Black Falcon that is capable of surrounding the jet with six shields. Each one of increasing power. These shields form on the outer shell of the jet. The first shield forms just a few inches off the hull and the remaining shields generate outside of the previously generated shield. The shields are capable of protecting the jet from practically anything. Anything attacking or damaging the shields must bring each shield down to 0% power before it can do any damage to the jet itself.

Black Falcon also features a very advanced radar system. It can track movement in the air, as well as troop and vehicle movement on the ground. The radar can stretch for a total of a ten mile radius from the current location of the jet at the time of usage. Another useful feature of the Black falcon is it's cloaking technology. It had the ability to cloak itself from radar and from visual sight. This means that a person could look at it, and not even know it was there. It could render itself practically invisible.

Black Falcon has an extensive weapon system. It features missile launchers, rocket launchers, grenade launchers, gun turrets, laser mounts, torpedo launchers, and a multiple level bomb bay. These different types of weapons were interchangeable between the weapon ports on the jet. There were a large number of weapon ports located on various areas on the jet. They could be found on the front, back, sides, top, and bottom of the jet. The different types of weapons could be rerouted to different ports as needed. The jet automatically downloaded nanotech signatures for the missiles, rockets, grenades, gun turret types and ammo, torpedo's, lasers, and bombs. This allowed the jet to build practically any of those weapons that it had signatures for. It used nanotechnology to develop them as needed. The signatures were downloaded from a variety of locations. The jet was automatically linked up to a highly classified information network, which required a great deal of money to tap into. This information network was a black market interface that hooked together almost all of the major American organization databases, as well as database systems from various countries and underground sources. If Logan had certain types of weapons generated and needed to get rid of a certain type for another, the Nanites could also overwrite the old weapon with the new data.

Overall the jet was Commanders pride and joy. He put hundreds of billions of dollars into it's development, and the reason he was giving it to Logan was because he knew he would never have need of it with his current position in the facility. He also wanted to do what he could to aid Logan since he was the last remaining Immortal and Commander knew that he had a chance of making a difference in this world.

Just because the jet built it's own weaponry with nanotechnology, did not make it invincible. Nanites are pretty limited in there overall effectiveness. A good example is how jets work. A standard jet normally comes with a preloaded amount of weaponry and ammo. Generally when it's expended all of the ammo for it's weaponry it is required to dock and resupply on weaponry. Logan's jet was really no different. The nanites could produce a certain amount of weaponry and ammo in one sitting. The amount it can produce at once is roughly equivalent to the amount of weaponry a standard jet would carry. Once that's been developed the Nanites need a pretty significant cool-down period in order to be able to produce more weaponry. It actually takes Logan's jet a little longer to reproduce the nanites than it takes a normal jet to restock it's weaponry. Another downside is the jet uses the same nanites for it's refueling, weapon resupply, and oxygen generation. Nanites are also used to produce the energy needed to jump between dimensions. Going from one dimension to another alone requires a three hour cool-down. During this cool-down jet weaponry and other special features are inoperable until those nanites have time to reproduce.

That is the major downfall of the jet. If the jet jumps into another dimension, then all of it's special features are disabled. It's unable to produce new oxygen, weapon ports or ammo, more portal jumps, or anything else for around three hours. This makes things very difficult. However this was how the jet was developed. It was intended to be an all-purpose vehicle and it's main focus was not centered around combat.

The second vehicle Commander had developed was a standard boat. It was an average mid-sized boat. The boats fuel was auto-generated using nanotechnology. He already had a jet that could go underwater at slow speeds, and the boat was simply for operations were Logan needed to be above water. Logan always had the ability to upgrade the boat later on down the road if the need arose. The boat was linked to Logan's mainframe so he could control all aspects of the boat mentally.

The third and final vehicle that Commander had developed was a hybrid. It was part motorcycle and part car. The motorcycle was a Triumph and the car was a Ford Shelby. It had the ability to change back and forth between the two types of vehicles as needed. It used nanotechnology to rebuild itself during transformation. Nanotechnology was also used to automatically generate the fuel.

The hybrid vehicle did not have a lot of features. The main focus behind it's design was to look very nice, and serve as transportation. It could reach speeds of around 300 miles per hour. This vehicle was developed in a way that set it apart from any other commercial vehicle available. The car was connected into Logan's mainframe, so he could control all aspects of the car mentally.

The hybrid had an additional feature. The feature was a shield that he could mentally activate when walking away from the vehicle. This allowed a great deal of protection and prevented theft when he was away from it. The vehicle itself was also bullet proof which gave him some sense of protection. Any items or weapons Logan wanted to store in the vehicle, he would store in the trunk. The trunk packages these items up during transformation and makes them available via certain suitcases that can be removed from the motorcycle. This was the most efficient way for it to keep from destroying items in the trunk during it's changing process.

After Commander gave Logan the items and access to the vehicles, they turned there attention to the cybernetics they had chosen earlier. Since Lisa decided to avoid cybernetics for the time being, the only person Commander needed to focus on was Logan. The two cybernetics Logan had chosen earlier were the EES (Evil Eye System) and the UIA (Universal Immortal Augmentation). Both of these were not released with specific versions.

Some cybernetics are released with a version number, while some are not. This allows the user to identify what version they are using, and allows them to know when to upgrade. There are circumstances when they do not come with a version number. Some psionics feature an auto-installer. It's a shot that is filled with nanites. Those nanites are preprogrammed with installation, update, and repair instructions for that specific cybernetic system. The user is simply given the shot in the heart area. The nanites run through through the body and completely install that cybernetic system. When there are updates it automatically receives information about the updates and performs the update procedures. It also repairs the cybernetic system whenever it takes damage. Generally the user will never even know cybernetics are damaged. The nanites will always initiate repair as soon as damage is done. The user will barely even realize when upgrades are available because nanites perform the update procedures so fast.

The Evil Eye System was a black market augmentation. You could generally only acquire it if you had access to the black market. The EES system also had two settings, one for Immortals and one for humans. The human version was scaled down to a basic set of features while the Immortal version was completely unlocked. The Evil Eye was originally developed for standard Immortals. A human would die if they tried to utilize a fully unlocked EES. The EES had a total of two components. The vision augmentation component and the data component. The humans can only have access to the first vision augmentation component, while Immortals had both components available.

The first component of the EES was the vision augmentation component. It came with various filters that enhanced, augment, or change the vision of the user in a variety of ways. It defaulted to normal vision but mentally the user could change it at will. On a basic level the EES featured Night vision, heat vision, infrared vision, zoom vision (any distance), X-Ray vision, and multiple other vision types.

The second component of the EES was called the data component. The data component provided data gathering, compilation, and archiving features.. Utilizing a variety of different views the EES system would gather data on anything and everything that was being used by the viewer. The data was presented to the user visually where they could view the data while looking at whatever they were looking at. The system also sent the data back to the users mind to allow them to patch it into there system or whatever they are hooked to. It also allows the mind to store the data for later usage so it can recall data visually whenever the need arises. This component was always turned on by default.

The data component was very hard to understand without actually looking through the eyes of the user. It basically scans everything the user is looking at and returns any data that could possibly be imagined. The best way to explain this process is with the use of multiple examples. The examples won't cover all possibilities, but it will lay out a general view of how it functions internally in a few different situations.

The first example of the EES data component being used, is if the user was looking at a chemical. The EES system could gather all the data about the chemical. It would be able to return the name of the chemical, all of it's properties and components, where it originated, and where it had been. It can then compile all of that data and reveal it visually to the user.

A second example is if the user was looking at another person. The EES system could analyze the person internally and externally and return a great deal of data about them. It could return scars, birthmarks, hidden injuries, internal injuries, old injuries that didn't heal properly, their diet, what fighting styles they knew based off of there stance, and a variety of other types of information. The system would deep scan the person that was being looked at and could practically return any and all information about them.

The EES data component is very advanced. Even if the user is looking at multiple things at once it can return data on everything they are viewing simultaneously. The system is much deeper than can be described here, but this will reveal a general idea of how the system functions.

The entire EES system came with an auto-installer. The auto-installed could install and setup the entire system with both components activated. The auto-installer was setup to detect when updates were performed to the system. When that happens that allows the EES auto-installer to automatically update the EES system. When the EES system takes damage the auto-installer will also analyze what damage was done, and repair it accordingly. This was done via nanite technology.

The Universal Immortal Augmentation is an augmentation that was originally developed by Immortals, and for Immortals. It is a collection of various smaller Augmentations that were modified to make them more powerful for Immortals. Humans are unable to install the UIA system into there bodies. UIA was mainly found on the black market but there were a few open markets that still sold them. The UIA (similar to the EES) came with a variety of different components. Each component governs a general feature set.

The first component is the armor component. It features two modifications to the persons internal structure. It enforces both there skeleton and there organs. The entire skeleton is laced with metal. Every bone throughout the entire body receives this metal lacing. The organs are also laced with a thin micro-layer of metal. The organs are not protected heavily, but will gain sufficient protection from light wounds and minor damage protection.

The second component of the UIA system is the nasal component. The nasal component modifies certain areas of the nose to allow enhanced smelling. The scents that come in and out of the nose are also screened before entering into the part of the brain that recognizes scents. This allows the user to have the ability to filter out certain smells they do not want to recognize. This is particularly useful for ignoring poisons, bad chemicals, or scents intended to knock the person unconscious.

The third component was called the auditory component. This modified both ears to allow hearing over a large distance. The ears were connected into the mind allowing the enhanced hearing to be turned on and off at will. Screening is performed on incoming sounds to allow the user to filter out sounds they do not want to hear. The system had a built in feedback protection system, which utilized the filtering system to prevent dangerous auditory feedback.

The fourth component was called the communication component. Minor modifications are made to the ears to allow the user to receive communications that other people standing nearby cannot hear. The vocal cords are also modified slightly. This allows the user to speak very softly and still get there communications through. There has to be a person on the other end of the communication channel to send and receive communication. This component also allows the user to change communication channels, encrypt and decrypt the communication, and hack into incoming communication signals. The communication system has the ability to scan the area for external communication and it can sometimes patch in and listen to other peoples conversations. This is handy for gathering intelligence.

The fifth component was the computer component. This component included two different special features. The first feature was an enhanced datajack. This allows an Immortal to interface with other computer systems, cybernetics, or anything else technology related. This allows them to hook the external system directly into there neural interface and work with the technology directly with there mind. This mixed with the communication component allows the user to send and receive data via communications when they are hooked up to an external system. The second feature allows them to mentally draw up a digital laptop. The laptop is created through a combination of psionics and nanotechnology. The laptop develops itself in front of the user. They can do the same things with the digital laptop that they could do with a standard laptop. After they are finished they simply mentally dematerialize it.

The UIA system also came with an auto-installer. If any parts of the system were damaged the UIA would automatically start repairing them. It allows receives information pertaining to upgrades and it will automatically update the system internally. Sometimes the user will not even notice this because it happens so fast.

Logan had both of those systems auto-installed into his body. Two shots were put into his body one at a time. When the EES was installed his eyes were burning like fire and he could feel something tearing about and reconstructing his mind. It was a horrible experience. After the EES was installed they shot him with the UIA installer. That wreaked havoc on his entire body and almost all areas of his internal system were manipulated, changed, and reconfigured by the auto installer. When the installations were complete he felt like an entirely new person and he knew it would take him awhile to get use to all of these augmentations.

Another good benefit of both of these using auto-installers were the repairs and updates. With all of the battle Logan was going to see he was pretty sure the auto-repair would come in handy. He was also looking forward to new features potentially being auto-updated into the system at a future point.

Once Logan's cybernetics were installed, the Commander turned his attention towards Lisa. Earlier she had chosen the support datajack. This was a standard datajack that had been upgraded to enhance support tasks. The main difference was it allowed her to hook things into it via wireless connection. This would allow her to hook up to multiple systems simultaneously without having to directly hook into any of them. This would be very beneficial in a support role.

The second augmentation she wanted was an arm integrated laptop. This system would allow her to perform a majority of her support operations via this laptop, instead of always having to carry around an external laptop to perform all of her work. This was also going to streamline how quickly she could find information and get it back to Logan since she could run this laptop with her mind instead of just with her fingers and hands.

Logan and Lisa had completely finished there training. Commander had also outfitted them with everything they would need to make it in the field. After a long twenty years worth of training it was finally time for Logan and Lisa to leave the facility for good. Before they left the facility they were required to sign a few contracts stating they would not reveal the location of this facility to anyone.

Commander took Logan aside, and revealed the true reason why he was helping him so much. Commander told Logan, “Listen. I have trained you and your girl for twenty years. That is a long time to get to know you. When Demon told me you were an Immortal I didn't believe him. Not all humans know about Immortals. The ones that do look up to them greatly as the only hope for the universe. They have the power and ability to make a change. I have given you so much to help you on your journey to find your family and start a mercenary group. I am except you to always do your best and do what is right.”

Commander continued, “There are a lot of things happening in this universe, and it's finally time someone with the power to do something makes a stand. I have issued a public press release about the launch of the Apex Organization and it's mercenary group. Your the mercenary. Your cellphone number is on the press release. Everyone knows it's being led by an Immortal. Your about to become very famous very fast. Not just from this dimension but a variety of dimensions. Now it's time. Here is 150,000 dollars. Take it and get some weaponry together. Now get out there and find your family. Keep in touch.”

Logan thanked the Commander and rejoined his girlfriend. Together they headed for the door..ready to start there career as mercenaries, and ready to find Logan's family.
