James Went Home
Description: This poem was written by my Grandmother. This was in memory of a dear friend of hers by the name of James, who past away.
Written: November, 19th 1993
Father, I thank you so very much for the times I was privileged to spend with James Patterson and the things he told me about you, and how you had blessed him. He had such a beautiful spirit and his kindness had to come from you. He went through so much and never complained. He always had a kind word & it blessed me so much just to listen at the things he told me about you. Father you must have been proud of that wonderful man. I believe he's with you now, and he will have no more pain, sorrow, and sadness. Thank you father for building him a new home with you in heaven and the ones who were waiting to welcome him in. He told me four days before he left, that he had a dream and in that dream he bought land to build a new home. He said it was so pretty and when he got there and was ready to build some one else had built the home, and he moved things in. Father I wish I had asked him nay more questions about the way it went. I believe it was built for him by your loving hands.
For you tell us in your word that you would go away to prepare a place for us and you would come again to receive us unto your self that where you are we may be also. And I believe you come for Jame and all his
troubles are over, thank God.
James I remember so many times when I would call you and you said you were fine. I know you spent hours alone with God. Even when your body was sick your spirit with god stayed ni line. I wish I was half the Christian I saw in you. God must have been pleased so much with your dreams and visions they blessed me so. I was filled with joy when they were told to me. I'm so glad God gave me time with you. It still overflows my heart. It seems I can still hear your word ringing in my ears. You know I wonder who come after you and why you met first as you walked inside the home built for you. I believe they were all waiting to welcome you in standing at attention. There was so many. I loved you so, but your finally home at last with no one to hold you back.
